So far, YES! We’ve been debt free for slightly over 2 months, and we’ve lost 50 points according to CreditKarma.com.  Am I upset by this?  Not at all, after all the credit score is not really for me, it is for the bank.  And the score is accurately representing that I am not as profitable to banks as I was before.  After all, if they lend me money, they will be taking a big risk that I might pay them off early!

I just logged into my Wells Fargo account and I saw this:

We sold our house and now we owe nothing to anyone! At least until we buy another house. :(

Here are some pictures from our recent vacation to Orlando Florida.  4 Disney theme parks in 4 days is hard work, too bad we didn’t have more time.  4 parks over 8 days would have been easier. Also, Naomi has 4 teeth now! Her 3rd & 4th teeth came in right at the end of our trip.

One day Mommy saw something that looked like a dog but more fierce. She looked it up and found out it was a coyote. We saw it today. It walked through our yard, into a field. When we were getting ready to go outside to play, Mommy said, “If you see a coyote come right back!”

Today we accepted an offer on our house. It’s a lot less than we paid for it 5 years ago, but at least we won’t have to keep making payments on a house we don’t live in.

Closing will be by 12/4. And then we will be DEBT FREE. Not a penny owed to anyone in the world. At least until we decide to buy another house.

Please pray that the buyers don’t try to pull any tricks like demanding a bunch of repairs after their home inspection.

Last Saturday, Naomi was sick, so Amy stayed at home with her, and the rest of us went exploring.

I sold it to the kids as “mountain exploring”, i.e. don’t expect to be climbing anything, but we will get out and walk around in the mountains.  Mostly it was an exercise in futility.  First we drove to Boulder Falls, but of course, the hiking trail to the falls closes Nov 1, and we went on Nov 5.  It was a nice warm day, but they had already closed the falls for the winter. Strike one. Next we drove up to some lake and dam that is at the top of Boulder Canyon drive, there was really nothing to do there either. Strike two.  Then we headed back to Boulder, stopping at every little turnout and looking for hiking trails.  We did find a nice cliff with about 15 people climbing there.  The kids got bored of watching, so we headed back to the van.

Finally we ended up back on the Boulder Canyon bike trail, which is a very nice trail, and walked for a while, then climbed on some rocks.  They happen to be the same rocks that Naomi was climbing earlier this year.

Emily was really hoping to see some wild animals, and she had just about decided that dogs were the only Colorado mountain animals she was going to see when we came across a herd of mule deer climbing on the rocks.  At first we saw 8 of them, then one walked out of the creek right behind us, and joined her comrades on the hill.  She walked just a few feet from the rocks we were sitting on.

We signed a lease on a house in Longmont, CO, and we’re moving in Dec 4. Now we just need to get our house in Omaha sold. Anyone want to buy a house in Omaha? It’s very nice….

Our new house has 5 bedrooms, a million bathrooms, and a finished basement. The owners are moving to Georgia, and need to have someone rent it until the housing market gets better. It is a great situation for both them and us.  There is plenty of space, so please come and visit us.

Here are a few photos:

Naomi ate her first solid food: rice cereal. She seems happy about it, and she doesn’t spit it out, so far so good.

I made a map of interesting things around where we live.  This map is live and I’ll keep adding things as I find them.
